Season 1
I can't pinpoint what makes the Wandering Ronin flicks so popular. This series has a simple story, a world made up by really cool things, and a red paint scheme. It also has a lot of really colorful characters. It's pretty shallow when it comes to depth, and maybe that's a good thing.
It was entertaining though. It was just as filled with all the blood and guts of 300.
Take root of the fight scene to story ratio.
